Photo installation: the village Saasen, municipality Neuenstein, Hessen, Germany
Karina Mosegård artistic influence both individual and society and issues for their implementation selects the appropriate artistic expression.
These can be sequences of drawings or handwritten text leaves, but also the medium of photography and video are an important part of their work. They are brought into mutual relationship, the narrative content of her installations, which go beyond a purely aesthetic perception of light, color, shape and sound.
For the village Saasen they developed in their project different levels of the perception of reality. The idea of the artist “to show something that
already exists,” she realizes by means of a photographic concept. The respective occupants of a house put up for a group photo is available that vegrößert flags printed on fabric and attached to the building facade is concerned. The concern of the artist is, are largely withdrawn from the creative process of photography. The resulting images are like snapshots for the home photo album, recorded with the same exposure and the same stereotyped frontal perspective, the photographs live solely by the individual diversity of people. The inhabitants there was even left to decide how they want to present themselves. Thus, the photographs Karina Mosegård illustrate in a moment the authenticity of the people in everyday life, though through the lens of the camera produces a two-dimensional image. By affixing the photographs to the appropriate building facades, the internal private sphere of the house turned out and condition the narrative content of this installation. Apart from a purely aesthetic perception mediate the photographs statements about family size, appearance and location.
